Product Definition & Core Function
Calcium hypochlorite (Ca(OCl)₂) is an inorganic chlorine compound with available chlorine ≥65%. Granular form provides fast, powerful disinfection and oxidation. Commonly used for pool shock, algae control, and drinking water disinfection. It does not contain cyanuric acid, so chlorine is not UV-stabilized.

Safety & Packaging

l Incompatible: Organic materials, oils, reducing agents, ammonium salts.

l Packaging: 45kg plastic drums (HDPE) with desiccant; 1kg or 5kg water-soluble bags for pool shock.

l Storage: Keep below 30°C, away from sunlight and humidity.

l Why does it fume when opening? Reaction with atmospheric moisture – normal but indicates freshness.

l Can I mix with TCCA? Never – violent reaction possible.

l How long does it last in storage? 6–12 months; less if humid.

l White residue on pool tiles? Calcium scale – adjust pH.
